ODK on an Android device paired to an InReach Delorme device for transmission at remote locations

Hi,

We have been using ODK in our assessment of camp sites/evacuation centers
during an emergency and it has been doing wonders for us in terms of data
collection.

We are trying to push it further by deploying it in remote locations.

We are looking into the device offered by I http://www.inreachdelorme.com/nReach
which can be paired with an Android phone to send and receive messages and
other data via its satellite link.

Has anybody done any work related to this? We would be very interested to
know.

Thanks.

Raul,

I believe InReach has a specialized app that they use to pass SMS and
other messages through their network. I doubt they have an API to
enable ODK Collect to send messages through it. The best way to figure
this out is to ping InReach and to ask.
