ODK VM and app engine question

hi,

I am new to odkkit. I have been successful with downloading sample forms make changes and even play around with cloud aggregator.

What works-

  • CLoud aggregator
  • ODK Collect to my own app
  • Form building and uploading.

What does not work

If i use VM and avoid cloud aggregator - VM set up goes fine where i can see the forms in fusion table etc. But app engine has no app which i can access via mobile.

I may be doing it the wrong way as there are no clear guidelines on how exactly the VM works.

Question-

Do i need both the cloud and VM to coexit because cloud based installation creates the appengine and for example i can access myapp.appspot.com

But if i dont want to use the cloud engine and remove the myapp.appspot.com and try setting the same via VM my mobile is not able to download the form as myapp.appspot.com is not there and not reacheable.

I think i am doing it the wrong way but any direction can help me understand the functionality better.

How to use VM and collect data using phones. Is it by uploading the forms directly into the fone and not via accessing server?

We don't have any instructions for deploying the VM image to the Google
Cloud (and I don't know if that would work).

The only solution we provide assumes App Engine.

Using Google Cloud SQL would require software changes.

S.Vivek,

It sounds like your Aggregate install on App Engine is working well.
Why not continue to use it?
