Phonenumber returns 00000000000

Hi,

I've a form which works - other than always returning 00000000000 as my
phone number. Is there some permission I should set to allow the phone
number to be picked up?

ta Kirby

extract ...

 <instance>
    <data id="build_Photo-Notes_1301309699">
      <Deviceid/>
      <phonenumber/>
    </data>
  </instance>

  <bind nodeset="/data/Deviceid" type="string" jr:preload="property"

jr:preloadParams="deviceid"/>

I should have added I'm using

  • ODK 1.2.1
  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Android 4.04

Most (maybe all) Android devices will not return a phone number
programmatically (See
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5948446/to-get-phone-number-programatically-in-android).

If you need some sort of unique identifier, try these...

  <bind nodeset="/data/deviceid" type="string"

jr:preload="property" jr:preloadParams="deviceid"/>

If you need to get a phone number, you might have to text some service
you control with maybe the device/subscriber id and extract the number
and the device info from that text.
