We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of IT Project Manager (Mobile Data Collection and Application Developer), in Washington, DC or Boston, MA.
Additional Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a member of the mobile data collection and web development team in FHI 360’s TechLab.
He/she will be responsible for developing mobile data collection systems and related applications. The new team member will be expected to do the following:
Work with client-colleagues at FHI 360 to understand data collection and usage requirements in order to develop detailed scopes of work, level-of-effort estimates, and associated budgets
Create data collection tools using ODK or similar technologies for feature phones and Android devices
Design and implement applications for text messaging and SMS data collection
This position reports to the Digital Solutions Manager
Qualifications:
5 Years of experience using technologies mentioned above to create data collection systems as well as web and mobile applications
BA/BS in Computer Science or 7years total experience Strong knowledge and experience in web and application development, including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and PHP.
Experience exporting and importing large data sets into web-based data platforms
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of CommCare and/or DHIS 2 is a big plus Application development for iOS and Android mobile devices and SMPP text messaging, IVR platforms, and/or related protocols.
Local data collection solutions using ODK or related technologies Data visualization solutions
Familiarity with working in Linux systems
Familiarity with XML technologies
Ability to travel abroad
Contributing to open source products such as CommCare, DHIS, and ODK Collect Java, Python, C#, Node JS, and ASP/.Net FHI 360 has a competitive compensation package.
