PULL Problem no from being recognized

I do have a problem in pulling some instances as ODK briefcase can not recognize the form in the forms folder.

Since no form is recognized by ODK briefcase 1.4.4 I am not able to pull my data.

I have already tried to regenerate the form from xls to xlm but it does not work.

What could be the reason behind and how can i solve this issue? Many thanks
Gabriele

First, upgrade to ODK Briefcase 1.4.5 https://opendatakit.org/downloads/

Does this fix the problem?

With each release, we add new features and functions to the javarosa XForms
language. If the form on the server uses any of those new features, an
older ODK Briefcase will not be able to download and open the form.

If it doesn't fix the issue, I ( mitchellsundt@gmail.com ) would need
access to your server.

Ah, OK.

It appears that ona.io modifies the form definition or returns something
that is not recognized by ODK Briefcase. This would be something for the
Ona support people to respond to.

Ona and ODK Aggregate both communicate through standardized interfaces (
https://bitbucket.org/javarosa/javarosa/wiki/OpenRosaAPI ) with ODK Collect.

ODK Briefcase, however, uses APIs that are defined by the ODK team (
https://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/wiki/BriefcaseAggregateAPI ) and
these may or may not be fully implemented on Ona.

ODK Briefcase should be able to submit data to Ona (because that interface
is the same as used by ODK Collect to submit data), but it may or may not
be able to download data from Ona -- that is dependent upon whether Ona
implements the ODK download APIs.

from briefcase he tried to pull data from server ona and that is the error
message he got:

Well actually the form was developed with ODK xiframe. We usually download
the data offline from the different Androids and then consolidate them here
in the office with ODK briefcase. Since it was not working this time with
the form attached, my colleague Patrick did try tu use ona.io.
Mitch would you be so kind to have a look to the form attached and find out
whether you can understand we ODK briefcase does not recognize it to pull
data?

For the ODK tools, the version number must be an integer.

In these forms, you are using "2.5"

Also, the integer is compared using string comparison, so the numbers are
ranked in alphabetical order, so "10" < "2".

Therefore, we recommend using a version number format of:

yyyymmddvv

The number can be no longer than 10 digits, with a leading 2.

So, e.g.,

2015032401

would be the 1st revision to the form that you developed on March 24, 2015.

MANY MANY THANKS MITCH, YOU Helped us a LOT!
I managed to get the form recognized, unfortunately the offline export still says failed… mayde due to the clash between version in the forms and the version in the instances. However I did extract the data thanks to the ona.io server.

LESSON learnt

HAVE A GREAT DAY
