Purge not removing submissions

Hello,

I am having trouble purging a large amount of submission data from the aggregate page. We have a google app spot set up and billing is enabled. I have been purging the submissions from the aggregate page and watching the logs on the cloud console. It seems like the remove old submissions task runs for a short time, and removes some records, but then stops until I go back to the aggregate page and purge again.

In desperation I have deleted all the entities relating to the pictures for one of the forms I am trying to clean out, from the cloud datastore. This has reduced the amount of data on the datastore but I am still having the same problem trying to purge the submissions from the aggregate page.

Please excuse any incorrect terminology in this question. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the purge to need to be restarted so often?

Hi Lucy,

When you purge submissions, the deletion is not immediate.

As Mitch notes at

"It is a scheduled activity that runs slowly in the background,
deleting 100 rows at a time, every few minutes. This is partly by
design -- we didn't want a user's free quota to be immediately
consumed by the deletes."

Please read that thread for other options to speed up purges.
