Hello,
I'm Audrey. I'm working with the forms and I'm wondering how can I put a
"version" field on the xls form that can be parsed and identified as the
version of the form. I've tried to name the column "version" or
"form_version" but it seems it's not working.
According to this webpage
(http://opendatakit.org/help/form-design/xlsform/), there isn't a field
named "version". But in the structure of a xform, there is a version field.

The form id and form version are set on the settings tab of the XLS file.
under headings of 'form_id' and 'version', respectively.
