Question formatted as a grid

Hello Support,

My name is Arcel and I am from Nairobi.
We are running a project and we are trying to see if it is possible to have
a table as one of the inputs on the builder. The current ODK Tables Alpha
seems too complex to link with the normal builder form.

Regards,

/ Arcel

Arcel,

The other option to try is
http://opendatakit.org/help/form-design/data-preloading.

Arcel,

Do you mean you would like to collect data by completing a table? Or are
you trying to pull data out of a table to prepopulate a form?

Dear Yaw,

Thank you for your response.
I am looking at a form that made of so many tables and i am trying to find
a way to minimize the number of steps the person has to take before they
can complete the form.
if it can be possible to have a table data input, that would be a good
thing.
Can you advice me on what is the best way to deal or implement that using
the existing platform.

Regards,

/ Arcel

Arcel,

The way I implement tables (e.g., matrix) inputs is to do row at a time or column at a time. And until the 2.0 tools are production ready, that's going to be the easiest way.

Hi, that’s I need thank for your quick answer.
But can I change the chose field in tect field?

Thanks you Madame

Thanks all of you guys and Hélène for this specific response. You can see am checking it out Dec '18. This response is a working approach for categorised responses (y/n, red/blue/green. ., etc). I think Arcel's need or suggestion was what Yaw noted with a proposal to provide for a better easier quick way to enter matrix entries. So, to me that would be a user-interface like what Hélène showed here but with the choice dots as other input-fields eg. text or int. I don't know whether it's already implemented to this date which can be great and quick, but as it is that the entire dataset is a big matrix with each variable as a contributing column and cases or observations as rows, Arcel would just use table elements as merely variables and also use repeat groups for each some tables where necessary.
Thanks for the great work ODK community.
