# Required (Mandatory) \*Icon is not changed/set - related to a dynamic reference

**1. What is the issue? Please be detailed.**  
In Collect, the \* mandatory icon is not set/updated for a dynamic (referencing) on the same page. This is different to Enketo, where the \*update is done at one.

**2. What steps can we take to reproduce this issue?**

**3. What have you tried to fix the issue?**  
Multiple tests, incl. Enketo behaviour. Added a trigger (no effect).

Same example as in linked posting.  
Tested with ODK Collect (v2024.1.0 Beta) and Online validator.
