Saving file with respondent ID

Hi,

I am exploring if we can save any completed ODK interview by program name
along with respondent ID, e.g. progname1234 (where progname is the ODK
program name and 1234 is the respondent ID).

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Surajit,

You can have a custom form submission name that shows in ODK Collect's
user interface. See http://xlsform.org/#instance-name for a how to.
This text is only stored in ODK Collect and inside the file and does
not change the file name itself.

It would be helpful if we can save completed interview with respondent ID
along with filename. Then interviewer can locate the completed case easily
for any review before uploading.

Hi Surajit,

Renaming the file will break a number of ODK tools so it's unlikely to
happen. If this is important, then file a feature request at
http://github.com/opendatakit/opendatakit/ and perhaps someone
(ideally your organization) can contribute that code.
