One form that I am creating involves selecting the correct species of
bird from a list of the known species in the area. Because we are in
coud forest, we are looking at a list of perhaps 150 species. I was
at a recent conference where the ODK system was present to
conservation practitioners and a common critique was that in the
tropics the "select one" feature may be impractical where you are
dealing with a list of hundreds of tree species for example. My
question: Is there a way to combine the "select one" feature with a
text based search function? If I see a horned guan I could type "h-o"
and the list of 150 bird species would reduce? Otherwise, we are
looking at a lot of scrolling for our community monitors!
As a side note, I am translating a forest structure form from the
Woods Hole Research Center into Spanish and I would love to make it
available after I am finished. Do you know of a proper forum to make
Xforms available to other conservation practitioners?

I am trying to add the autocomplete code into an existing Xform I
built using Build. The validator indicates that the form is invalid
and I have reached the limit of my nonexistent xml ability. The whole
form was too long for dpaste, but I have included the section where I
made my attempt and some context. Any chance I can get helpt to find
my errors? I think it has to do with referencing values, but I don't
understand the rules here.
line 55-70 is where I attempted the autocomplete code.
Best,
Adam

the label at line 56 looks misplaced. It should go down after line 58 (the
group).
