Selecting location on GPS map using the phone app

I am collecting GPS data in my questionnaire, but the location will be different from where the interview occurs. Is there an option to manually search for a location on the ODK app using the inbuilt GPS function.

To be specific, I will be interviewing multiple people at one location but I need to enter their place of residence using the GPS function. The ODK phone app only allows me to select my current location and there is no option to search and save another location.

Try using type = geopoint with appearance = placement-map. More details are in the documentation for geopoint with user-selected location.
