Setting up ODK Aggregate

I would like to set up ODK aggregate on the computer rather then
through app engine. I downloaded it and it is accessible from
localhost:8080 however I am unable to get computers on the same
network to access it through 192.168.0.5:8080 which is the internal IP
of the computer aggregate is on. I would like to know how to access it
through other computers on the network.

Thanks in advance.

you should not use the app engine dev environment for a production
server. it's just there to test things and won't work very well for
even small amounts of traffic. if you need a localhost, you might want
to try the alpha releases of aggregate 1.0.

that said, if you want the dev server to be externally accessible, you
need to bind it to 0.0.0.0, and not localhost. i don't know what
operating system you are on, but you need to pass the dev environment
the '--address=0.0.0.0' flag.
http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/java/tools/devserver.html has
instructions.

So I should not use version 0.9.4? Is there no way to get that version
to work with Tomcat?

My main problem with 1.0 is that it is still alpha and since the
client is a large company I do not wish for any errors to occur.

Please forgive my beginner questions as I am not very experienced with
this stuff.

This may be a silly question but I can't figure out how to pass the
dev environment the '--address=0.0.0.0' flag
Can you explain?
I am in the same situation as thedarklaith : I want the ODKAggregate
(v0.9.6) to be accessible from another computer/smartphone, as we will
be using a wireless network without internet connection to collect the
submissions.

Thanks in advance

There is no way to get the 0.9.4 branch to work with tomcat without
significant code change.

It will be another month before the 1.0 version should be ready.
