Hi there,

A simple easy suggestion to add to the ODK bindings is an absolute value function. Since error margins are commonly used to calculate checks, this would make things easier.

Have you taken a look at the xpath functions pagehttp://www.w3schools.com/xpath/xpath_functions.asp?
I think there there is an absolute value function there that should work
with Xlsforms. I haven't used it myself but you can give it a shot (I know
that the "not" function works, and if I am not wrong, xlsforms uses xpath
so the abs() function should work too).

I'm pretty sure JavaROSA doesn't have abs() support. I've filed the
feature request at
https://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/issues/detail?id=998.

Best way to guarantee this happens is for you to code it and submit a
patch. It's very straight-forward.
