The public key I used was mistyped

I have encrypted the form and tested it. It all went well
(encryption/decryption wise). I made some adjustments to the forms and
uploaded it again. Somehow in the process of adjusting, I have accidentally
edited the public key value (added or removed a character). This came to my
attention when trying to decrypt the information we have collected from the
field. Now I have several important instance that I cannot decrypt with my
private key.

I am using ODK Briefcase 1.4.3 to pull data and extract instances. I have
JRE 1.7.0_60 on Windows, with JCE Unlimited Policy 7.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks.

One thing to verify:

On the devices that received the form with the modified encryption key, are
the finalized forms actually encrypted?

If there is a problem with the key or the device does not support
encryption, the finalize process will not encrypt the form. So you may
simply have completed forms that are not encrypted. If you try to submit
these up to ODK Aggregate, they would likely fail to submit, or the
submission would contain no data. You would need to go to the device
itself to recover the information.

I would hope/think that the encryption process would fail due to a
malformed public key.

Otherwise, if it somehow was interpreted as a valid public key, I am afraid
the data is not recoverable.
