Tracking entries during data collection

Hi,

We are using ODK collect for a survey to collect information about 20
different medications in health center storerooms. Because the medications
may be organized in different ways in each facility, we created a survey
that allows enumerators to select the medication they are collecting
information about in a list, so that they have the flexibility to enter the
data in what order is most convenient, rather than have the questions about
each medication in a pre-set order. However, enumerators are having trouble
keeping track of what medications they have already collected data about.
Is there any way that once information about a medication has been
collected, enumerators will no longer be able to select from a list in
subsequent questions? I've attached our excel file. Alternatively, is there
a way to organize the list of all questions into groups so that users can
see more easily what they've already entered? Since we have so many
questions, looking at the entire list is a bit unwieldy. Or, if there is a
better way to organize this survey, please let me know!
Thank,
Nora

The only way I can see to do this is to "unroll" your survey so that you
take what was a repeat group, and replicate it N times. Then, at the start
of each of these N sections, you can ask the user to select the medication
they are inventorying. You should be able to write increasingly-complex
choice-filters that exclude the medications selected for the 1,2,... N-1
prior medication choices.
