Other ODK-based tools may provide this capability.

ODK Collect does not. It requires user interaction to gather all data,
including GPS locations.

@Mitch_S could you provide pointers to which tools can do this? Been working in remote communities with no cell coverage and once you miss an enumerator, it can take you hours to locate them.
Thanks

@Shylock_Muyengwa So to be clear, you'd like to know the location of a person in near-real time but you don't have cell coverage?

@yanokwa Yes. For exampe, I was working with 12 enumerators and each with their device. Is there a way of tracking them in near-real time.

If you don't have cell coverage, there is no way to transmit location back to you for real time tracking. If you do have cell coverage, the easiest thing to do is to use different Google Maps accounts on each device and turn on the real-time location tracking.
