TRANSLATIONS -- Re: IMPORTANT: PLEASE HELP TEST an upcoming ODK Collect release

For those of you who provided translations, there are some limitations to
what Android will allow on the device.

This has necessitated the following use of (language code , locale) to
access some translations.

Acoli
language code: kr
locale: UG (Uganda)

Spanish (Latin America)
language code: es
locale: SV (El Salvador)

Filipino
language code: tl
locale: PH (Phillipines)

If you have registered for providing translations, but have not provided
them, now would be a good time to do so.

The official release of ODK Collect 1.4.3 will be at the end of April.

Please verify your translations and update them!

Hello Mitch,

I did the Catalan translation in 2012 over 1.2.x ODK Collect version.
Then we was using Amanuens system. I also did some updates/improvements
over Spanish(Spain) translation.

If I should update/revise that translations for new messages for the
new 1.4.3, please, remember/give me the links to the current
translation files.

Thank you.

Hi Mitch, Alison Perez here from the Philippines. This might be a little
bit off topic but I wish to inquire if ODK is still in need of voluteer
translators in Filipino language? I wish to participate and shall utilize
my personal time in doing so. Please let me know how to join if you are
still accepting.

Thank you.

We are now using Transifex

To provide translations, you should just be able to sign in and choose the
ODK Collect project, then select the 'strings' resource and click on the
language you want to provide translations for.

If that doesn't work, let me know. We have it set up to accept anyone as a
translator.

··· ------------- We generally add new strings to the bottom of the strings file (I don't think that impacts the translators very much, but if it looks like everything is translated, then skip down to the bottom of the list of strings). There are about 20 new strings in this release. We will update the strings file again in the next few days, which will add 2 more strings to the translations list. If you are registered as a translator, you should get a notification.
