Un-ticking all options for a question

Hi,

We've been having some deployments of our survey the past couple of
days and our enumerators have come up with a question that I hope the
list can answer.

We have a number of questions which provide a list of options as
possible answers. We are using the "select-one option-list" syntax in
our Excel spreadsheet which we use xls2xform to turn into the form for
use with ODK.

Our enumerators have reported that they can't un-tick all of the
options for a possible question.

As an example the workflow they report is something like this:

  1. The question appears and they ask it of the respondent
  2. The respondent replies with an indication that item 3 is correct
  3. The respondent then changes their mind and decides not to answer the question

Currently item 3 is selected or ticked. The enumerator can tick
another option but can't un-tick all of the options.

Is it possible and we don't know the technique? Or if it isn't
possible how are others dealing with this issue?

Press and hold on the responses, you will get a pop up asking if you want
to remove the response.
Select remove response and you will get your desired result.
