Unable to install Aggregate using Windows Installer

Hi,

I downloaded "ODK Aggregate v1.4.6 windows-installer.exe"
from https://opendatakit.org/downloads/download-info/odk-aggregate-windows-installer-exe/.
I have also installed latest JDK 7 available
from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html.

My JDK version is

java -version

shows

java version "1.7.0_79"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_79-b15)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.79-b02, mixed mode)

I am using Windows 7 64 bit Operating System.

After double clicking on aggregate installer, I get following error message
:

There has been an error. Error running C:/jdk1.7.0_79/jre/bin/java.exe
QualifiedHostname : Error : Could not find or load main class
QualifiedHostname

The temporary folder C:\Users\Mangesh\AppData\Local\Temp has
bitrock_installer_6288.log with following contents :

Script output:

Script stderr:

Error running C:/jdk1.7.0_79/jre/bin/java.exe QualifiedHostname : Error:

Please let me know how to proceed with the installation..

Hi,

Is this something to do with 32 bit ODK Aggregate Installer and 64 bit JDK
and Windows operating system?

Is there a 64 bit Aggregate installer available?

Regards,
Mangesh Gokhale

No, it will definitely work on Win64 (that is what I have, and I've used
the 1.4.6 windows installer about 8 times to produce the upload images for
opendatakit.appspot.com, etc.).

Two things to try:

(1) download the installer to your downloads directory. Then open a file
browser to that directory and double-click the installer to launch it.
I.e., do not launch it from within the browser.

(2) select a install file location that is under your "My Documents"
folder, or place the files in a folder on your Desktop.

Hi Mitch,

I was following everything as per your instructions, but it was still not
working. Then, I saw that my CLASSPATH environment variable was pointing to
"C:\struts-2.3.20\lib". I was no longer using it, so I removed CLASSPATH
variable from Advanced Settings. After double clicking on the Aggregate
installer, I can now finally see the "Setup" screen.

To summarize, the solution was to remove the CLASSPATH variable from
Advanced System Settings - Environment Variables.

Mangesh

FYI, I just ran into the same issue - had installed JDK since my last
Aggregate install and setup a CLASSPATH. Mangesh's workaround worked for me
too.
