Unable to obtain OAuth2 access token

Hi, I am brand new and setting up a new instance on GAE. Now I get this
error:

Error: RequestFailureException (Unable to obtain OAuth2 access token:
com.google.apphosting.api.DeadlineExceededException: This request
(41482c5b3e8ff7c4) started at 2013/06/11 15:26:24.682 UTC and was still
executing at 2013/06/11 15:27:24.225 UTC.)

Help?

Try re-running the upload script that uploaded your application. This may
clear it.
Google sometimes has trouble with their filesystems, indicated by this sort
of a start-up error.
It usually resolves itself in a few minutes.

If you go to the appengine console (https://appengine.google.com ) , click
on your application id, then in the dashboard click on the 'Logs' on the
far left side, you will see the logs for your application. If you wade into
that, you will see a red 'E', and this, or something farther down the page
will be complaining about Unzip failing or taking too long.

Hi,

I seem to be having a similar error on my established Aggregate 1.3.1.

I first noticed when I tried to publish one of my forms to a Google
Spreadsheet and received a DeadlineExceededException error. I cleared that
form off Aggregate and out of the AppEngine, changed all the ID's on the
form and uploaded it again. Same error again. Then I tried publishing it
to a Fusion Table and received a similar error to what James Swanburg
experienced above. I'm attaching screenshots of the errors, shrunk as much
as I can. Mitch I believe you are still a developer on my site edmpestlab.
The form is OMC Pest Log if you want to look at it.

I thought that was the only error but now I'm finding that none of the

data being submitted is being published to our Google Fusion Tables either,
not just the problematic form. I'm very interested what the solution to
this is.

Thanks Mitch, ran install script again with no problems reported. Still
have same OAuth Error:

Error: RequestFailureException (Unable to obtain OAuth2 access token:

Do you want access to take a look?

Try signing out of all your gmail / google apps domain accounts, then
closing your browser windows, re-opening the browser, and seeing if you can
then log into ODK Aggregate -- (if you select Sign in with Google, it
should prompt you to log into a gmail / Google apps account). These might
all be interactive login / session cookie problems.

I just noticed this with one of my instances -- I had 3 gmail accounts
logged in, even though I chose the appropriate one, I got an Oauth2 error.
I had to sign out of all my accounts, close gmail, close my browser, then
re-open the browser, and then I could log in.

Logging in is no problem for me, it's publishing data from Aggregate to

And you set up the Google API Credentials as described on the Site Admin /
Preferences page?

How complex are your tables?

If you check the "Disable faster background actions (exports, publishing,
form deletion) (slows quota usage on Google AppEngine)" on the Site Admin /
Preferences page, then try to publish, does that work (it will take up to 4
minutes to publish any data).

I set up the Google API Credentials last year and they've worked fine until
roughly Jun 7/13 when I couldn't publish from the one form mentioned above,
then yesterday, Jun 10 was the last day data from any of the other forms in
Aggregate would publish.

Complex? I honestly don't know how to answer that. I didn't think they
were that complex. Is there a limit to how many one can operate in one
Aggregate engine?

I'll try "Disable faster background actions" tomorrow when I come in. I'll
let you know how it works. Maybe I need to set a faster Frontend Instance
Class?

Thanks for the suggestions, Greg

Check your Logs on appengine for errors.

I'll see if I can find something on Google issues queues. The
authentication tokens have a limited lifetime, once they expire, they need
to be reissued, so it is likely that the first table to fail was the first
with an expired token to be re-issued, and the re-issuing failed.

I'm not quite sure how to summarize the errors so I attached a text file
with a bunch of the info. Basically though, yesterday, Jun 11, there were
a bunch of:

"I 2013-06-11 15:55:03.300 [s~edmpestlab/1.367390336139520935].:
Time left on lock: -6760995" of errors that appear to finally conclude with:

"E 2013-06-11 15:55:06.305
org.opendatakit.aggregate.task.UploadSubmissionsWorkerImpl renewTaskLock:
UploadSubmission task lock -- FAILED renewal -- records transmitted: 1"

I don't seem to be getting these errors today. I've checked the "Disable
faster background actions" box in Aggregate but thus far it doesn't seem to
have helped.

I'm thinking your idea about the OAuth token expiring may have something to
do with it, although one of my other tables does still seem to be
publishing data to a Google Spreadsheet.

Just as a further update, 4 out of my 13 main ODK forms are not publishing
data from Aggregate to their respective Google Fusion tables/Spreadsheets.
These are the most used forms, the 5th most used still seems to be
publishing. No idea if that is relevant but it is the only link between
the 4 I can think of.

On the Google API dashboard no errors or issues are being identified. I'm
using the Drive API, Fusion Tables API, & Google Maps API v3 but have not
set up billing.

FYI, I created new OAuth tokens and credentials, then republished
everything from ODK Aggregate into Google Fusion Tables or Spreadsheets.
This appears to have fixed everything. In retrospect the original
credentials were probably out of date last week but the signs were subtle.

I wish there was a way to redo the authorization without breaking
publishing links or at least a warning that the authorization is coming due.

This should not be necessary -- the authorizations should be extendable
indefinitely unless the keys were somehow invalidated via this page:
http://code.google.com/apis/console or through some other page (at one
point, the account usage report had buttons that would allow you to revoke
permissions).

Complex? I honestly don't know how to answer that. I didn't think
they were that complex. Is there a limit to how many one can operate in
one Aggregate engine?

I'll try "Disable faster background actions" tomorrow when I come in.
I'll let you know how it works. Maybe I need to set a faster Frontend

How complex are your tables?

If you check the "Disable faster background actions (exports,
publishing, form deletion) (slows quota usage on Google AppEngine)" on the
Site Admin / Preferences page, then try to publish, does that work (it will
take up to 4 minutes to publish any data).

I just noticed this with one of my instances -- I had 3 gmail

Hi,

I seem to be having a similar error on my established

Aggregate 1.3.1. I first noticed when I tried to publish one of my forms
to a Google Spreadsheet and received a DeadlineExceededException error. I
cleared that form off Aggregate and out of the AppEngine, changed all the
ID's on the form and uploaded it again. Same error again. Then I tried
publishing it to a Fusion Table and received a similar error to what James
Swanburg experienced above. I'm attaching screenshots of the errors,
shrunk as much as I can. Mitch I believe you are still a developer on my
site edmpestlab. The form is OMC Pest Log if you want to look at it.

I thought that was the only error but now I'm finding that

none of the data being submitted is being published to our Google Fusion
Tables either, not just the problematic form. I'm very interested what the
solution to this is.

To the best of my knowledge I never did this but I'm not the only one with
access either. I didn't see anything immediately obvious in the console
indicating the keys were revoked or messed around with. If there were any
chair to keyboard errors no one has 'fessed up either.

Creating the new keys and republishing seems to have fixed everything but I
hope I don't have to do that again too often!

Regards,

Greg
