User logons

Hi

I'm currently creating a requirement document for a project we are commencing and certainly believe the Open Data Kit will do most of what we need it to do in terms of collecting data.

One of the requirements is that enumerators (data collectors) logon the survey collection tool and that the system would also record the enumerator ID with each completed survey.

So two questions

  1. does ODK allow/do this?
  2. how does it work in a NO network environment?

cheers, Peter

You can define fields in your form that will be preloaded with certain
configuration information on your device.

See https://opendatakit.org/help/form-design/examples/#Property_values

This is not verified or validated. We assume trusted data collectors that
don't try to subvert the system.

On the server, we record the identity of the user submitting the data in
database audit fields. If you set up your own database, you would be able
to access those fields directly; we don't expose them. Note that if you
allow anonymous submissions, the user submitting the data would be
'anonymousUser' regardless of what identity you configure on the device.
