Using Excel and XForm for FieldTask?

Hi,

I used Excel to create my XML form but when we try to upload the XML form
to FieldTask we get the error:

XPath evaluation: cannot handle function 'uuid'

Any suggestions?

I should also add... the form works well when we use ODK Collect; just a
problem when we use FieldTask

Sounds like an issue you should take up with the FieldTask folks...

We are still having trouble and are in conversation with the developers
from field task but I thought I would also ask the following.

We are trying to export data entry form field to a variant of ODK Collect
called Field Task. The UI is identical and our understanding is that field
task incorporates the use of Open Street Maps.

Transfer from ODK build into this modified ODK Collect application does not
result in errors, however when we do it using the Excel builder utility we
get an error message:
XPath evaluation: cannot handle function 'uuid'

I am wondering if perhaps Field Task was created using an older version of
ODK Collect (probably from about 6-8 months ago?). Have you run in to any
similar errors? Any insight?

Yes, this is very possible and highly likely as they are maintained by
completely different community members and are quite divergent in goals
(Build for quick/simple forms with a graphical UI; XLSform for larger more
complex forms).

The uuid() method was added to the form processor library (javarosa) at
least a year and a half ago, so "Field Task" must be using a very old
version of the form processor library.

That library has changed significantly in the last 3 months (e.g., added
support for [efficient] cascading selects).
