Using ODK for Survey Data Entry Project

Hi,

I was googling some ways to create a web app that can be used as a
data entry interface for survey digitization process. My input would
likely be scanned survey forms, usually handwritten, so I would like
to create a web app that would incorporate an image viewer and a form
to input data.

I was thinking of using xforms as my way of making the the forms when
I came to your site.

Is there a way for me to use ODK for this kind of project?

Thanks.

hey jeff,

there is a startup called captricity (http://www.captricity.com/) that
already does this using a combination of vision and crowdsourcing. the
founder is a good friend of the odk team and i know he is interested
in odk integration. might be an opportunity to collaborate...

more broadly, there is community interest in building xforms data
entry for the browser that works well with odk. there isn't anything
finished that i can point you to but purcforms
(http://code.google.com/p/purcforms/) and orbeon forms
(http://www.orbeon.com/) are good places to start.

hope that helps.

yaw
