Using ODK without a data plan

hi nicolás,

yuup. you even don't need wifi to get the data -- you can use
something like kobo post processor. http://code.google.com/p/kobo/

nicolas,

please send such questions to the mailing list (cc'ed). emails
directly to me don't help document things for the community.

nmtfsipa is running aggregate v.9 which is stable. nevesen is running
one of the aggregate alphas or betas.

please upgrade to the newly released beta 3 and see if that helps.

Thanks, Yaw.

I am already using the newly released beta 3. Should I downgrade to v.9? If so, do I just launch re-launch uploadAggregateToAppEngine.app using v.9?

Hi again Yaw,

So I've been testing ODK to use it at an NGO here in Kenya, and I'm coming across some problems. Maybe you can help me.

When I click on 'Get New Forms,' I get an error message that reads:

Form listing failed. Error: null while accessing http://nevesen.appspot.com/formList.
(nevesen is my application name on appspot and I put http://nevesen.appspot.com on the server preferences).

I've tried on three different phones (but of the same model, the Android-based IDEOS) and I've tried using ODK Collect 1.1.5 and 1.1.7. The same happens when I type http://opendatakit.appspot.com in the server preferences. Interestingly, it works when I use the server http://nmtfsipa.appspot.com, which is one that a group at Columbia University uses.

I don't know what the problem could be. I also have problems uploading the nevesen appspot location. I've given anonymous users data collection privileges on the Aggregate administrator site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks—

The databases are incompatible so it won't quite work. As long as
there is no table name collision the old version of aggregate will
ignore the tables it's not using. You could also delete the
application on google app engine so you have a fresh one to start with
using the console before running the upload script.

nicolas,

i think we can do a little better. please add my gmail account to your
nevesen account and email me directly when you do. there's definitely
a bug in the betas somewhere and we need track it down...
