Which is the best phone

Hi all!

I have been using HTC Dreams for data capture and now wanna change
to a newer phone which is affordable. From experience I would prefer
a phone with a hard keyboard.

Any suggestions?

"Depends on what you want to accomplish. Android runs on phones,
tablets, ereaders, netbooks, etc. Rugged devices tend to be expensive
but are reliable. Keyboarded devices tend to have moving parts which
can break. Expensive devices tend to have larger screens, better
cameras, more processing power but less battery life.

Popular options are phones like HTC Magic ($400), HTC Dream ($400,
Keyboard), Nexus One ($600), Motorola Milestone ($600, Keyboard),
Trimble Nomad ($1200, Rugged). You can also pick something from this
list of Android devices
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Android_devices) . Most
deployments we know about use the Dream or the Magic. Negri
Electronics and Pure Mobile often have them in stock." --

the dream is the most inexpensive keyboarded phone. one thing you can
do to beef it up is to upgrade it to http://cyanogenmod.com which
should give you most of the android 2.1/2.2 functionality. you could
also try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorola_CLIQ but i haven't
personally used one.
