Why does ODK collect reorder forms in the formList?

Hi,

When ODK Collect retrieves the formList from the server, it shows the
forms in alphabetical order of displayed name (which is already an
improvement over the previous release candidate which used to order them
in a completely arbitrary, seemingly-random way).

Is there a good reason for reordering them at all, instead of just
presenting the forms to the user in the order in which they appear in
the XML served by the server?

thanks
m.

i've filed your request

in general, it's safe to assume that we do things for good reason.
