Aggregate API for .NET based forms

Hi Folks,

I am writing an application to build/design survey form in a term project at University using ASP.NET and want to use ODK Aggregate to store the forms so ODK Collect can be used to make submissions (finalization).

While exploring website for ODK, I couldn't find anything like API to integrate with my own form designer, however, XML based Forms were mentioned there but don't know where to submit them for ODK Aggregate to store and allow ODK Collect to use them.

My questions:

  1. Is there any way to integrate my own form designer (developed in ASP.NET) with ODK (replacing ODK build from the equation)?

  2. What is the API or mechanism to submit newly created forms to ODK Aggregate?

Best regards,
Faizan

Hi Faizen,

You can build your own form designer and also submit forms to ODK
Aggregate via an API.

https://bitbucket.org/javarosa/javarosa/wiki/FormSubmissionAPI and
https://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/wiki/BriefcaseAggregateAPI has
everything you need to know.

ODK Build implements some of this API so review that source. ODK
Briefcase also has a complete Java implementation that you should
review. As far as form designers, the most feature complete is
probably XLSForm so I'd start there.
