Aggregate VM?

Hi all,

I would like to use the Aggregate VM because Briefcase apparently doesn't
work with Android Jellybean 4.x (Google Nexus 7 tablets).

Some simple questions:

Can data be easily uploaded to an App Engine server? (from Aggregate VM)
Data transfer is being done via USB and/or wifi? Does USB debugging need to
be activated?

Thanks!
Felipe

For the newer 3.x and 4.x devices, ODK Briefcase works fine. It just
requires an extra step:

(1) connect them with USB to your computer
(2) manually copy the ODK directory from the phone to your computer,
(3) run ODK Briefcase and select 'Custom Path to ODK Directory' on the
Pull tab. Choose the directory where you copied the files.

If you are using an Aggregate VM, it is just like an AppEngine server.

  • Use wi-fi to connect to the Aggregate VM (no need for USB / USB
    debugging).
  • To transfer data between ODK Aggregate servers, use ODK Briefcase as an
    intermediary.
