Auto-populate select list from previous form

I'm designing a survey which has two form types.
Household form and individual form.

In the household form I capture the name of the village, GPS, head of household and a variety of other variables.

I then complete an individual form for each person resident in the house.

In order to link the two I have been entering a Household ID field in both forms and then linking post-hoc.

I had seen a survey where the following happened.

  1. Household form - user entered head of household name
  2. Individual form - the user was presented with a select_one list, containing all the head of household names that had been added

So each time a new head of household was created (in the household form) that option became automatically available in the individual form.

Does anyone know if this is straightforward/doable with standard ODK or if it requires additional coding?

Hi Michael,

Sounds like you saw a custom build of ODK. Nafundi has done a couple
of forks like this for our clients and maybe you saw one of them.

To get this behavior, your options are to:
