Automatically joining households and individuals

Barbara,

We don't have any immediate plans for automatically linking things
like households and individuals. Currently, the best way to do this is
to enter an ID for the household in the household form, and then put
that same household ID in the individual form. You can then join on
the appropriate ID column during analysis.

I can understand why doing this automatically would be useful, so feel
free to file a feature request at
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/issues/list. If we don't get to
it, hopefully someone from the community can add it. I've cc'ed the
mailing list to help facilitate...

Of course, repeats can be used for this now - as it is one form with
multiple sub-parts, the linking is automatic - but that only handles
the case where household and individual elements of the forms are
entered at the same time.
