Best datacenter regions for optimized bandwidth in Africa?

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have any advice/knowledge as to the best datacenter region to choose for optimizing connections in Africa--either the whole continent or subregions?

I have used all of the following in the past: Google Cloud, AWS, Heroku, Digital Ocean, and Linode. But I've never seen a datacenter in the Africa, Middle East, or India regions on any of these providers. So I always go with EU West, but I really have no idea if that is the best option.

Microsoft Azure has locations in South Africa if latency is the only consideration. For Africa-based projects, I usually pick the provider with the features I need and host in the EU.

We usually use linode Frankfurt for projects in Africa and it works really well.
