Briefcase status and/or work-arounds: incremental downloads, .csv looped-group output

Dear ODK Team,

Thanks for such a fantastic product. We're hoping to use ODK for a
bunch of development-economics research here in India, but two
briefcase issues are problematic for us. I just wanted to check
whether fixes were on the immediate horizon, or work-arounds were
available:

  1. Incremental download of data (as, e.g., described in Issue 119). We
expect 8-10,000 observations per month, and need to download new data
to CSV nightly. Re-downloading all data every night would be
unworkable. And using Aggregate's Export doesn't work because we use
looped groups and need full .csv output.

  2. Full .csv output (as described in Issue 461). I have hand-merged
    Chris Wilson's fix (http://code.google.com/r/chris-briefcase/source/
    detail?r=336e4b2c235b8d973092da923f44a85e3eb022c2) into the latest
Briefcase sources and all seems to work, but I'm afraid that I may
have unwittingly broken something. Perhaps a Beta 3 will correct .csv
output to include all rows for looped groups?

While I have a work-around for #2, #1 remains a killer concern. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks very much,

Chris Robert

This seems to already be fixed according to issue 119? As long as you can
install Aggregate 1.0 on the server.

You'll still need to re-export all the data each time, but at least the
download is incremental as you requested.

Cheers, Chris.

Hi Chris,

Yes! We've been using the latest Briefcase and it seems to be working well.

Thanks!

Chris
