1. What is the issue? Please be detailed.
the button text for Next in ODK Collect spanish version says Sig. >, for end users is confusing to have the button < Back complete in spanish: < Retroceder but the button Next > is abbreviated Sig. >, it should be Siguiente >

2. What steps can we take to reproduce this issue?
it is like that in all ODK collect versions in spanish.

3. What have you tried to fix the issue?
Not in our scope, it is something from product design point of view.

Thanks for bringing this up! I agree the inconsistency is annoying. I'm guessing it comes from someone with a narrow screen not wanting the text to wrap which is a legitimate concern.

Is "Retroceder" the best option there? Maybe "Anterior", "Atrás" or "Volver" could save a few characters if we expand "Siguiente".

The common translation for 'Back' is Atrás, which is conveniently shorter than Retroceder.

For 'Next,' you can use either Continuar (meaning 'continue') or Siguiente ('next'); both are widely used and well-understood.
