Columbia University looking for Senior Data Use Advisor in Ethiopia

ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as Senior Data Use Advisor - Ethiopia.

The Senior Data Use Advisor will be responsible for building the capacity of the Data Management teams at the Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) Directorate of the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI). S/he will also support the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health, and the Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPMED) directorates of Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH). S/he will support the management and coordination of the immunization and Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) surveillance data and database, including data cleaning, quality checks and build the necessary skills to analyze, visualize, interpret and make use of data for action. S/he will provide technical assistance to the Growing E-health Expertise Knowledge and Skills (GEEKS) teams to develop appropriate tools for strengthening data use and will follow up and mentor GEEKS fellows including reviewing and ranking GEEKS projects proposals.

One of the recommended qualifications, experience and attributes is

Experience working with District Health Information System (DHIS)2 or other related HMIS, MS Office packages, Epi Info, Open Data Kit (ODK) and Mapping software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
