Connecting to localhost from phone to upload forms or download data

Hi

Thanks for the earlier reply. I have been using the google app site but want
the flexibility of using the localhost instance.

Sorry I don't know this already, but do I need to connect the phone via the
usb cable, or not? Then do I need to do anything other than enter the IP
address on the phone to upload the form from the localhost?

Will the firewall prevent access? I need a step by step idiot's guide.

I didn't see instructions for this on the website....

you don't need to use the usb cable. you don't need anything but the
address of the server you are trying to connect to.

what your firewall will do depends on your setup. for that reason, we
can't provide step-by-step instructions. assuming your computer and
physical phone are on the same network, then you only need to open
port 8080 on the firewall on your computer. you'll also need to figure
out the ip of your computer and give that to the phone.

a lot of these issues is why we recommend using the google app engine option.
