Create shortcut of a form in home screen still relevant for form that seldom changed, what about for form that frequently changed

1. What is the issue? Please be detailed.

Having read that the shortcut is hard-coded to the latest form when the shortcut was created, it may be unsuitable for form that updated frequently. This is because the shortcut need to re-created frequently. However, it is still a good method to access form quickly if the form is seldom updated.

I have both use case, one is for form that is seldom updated, another for form that is frequently updated.

For the first, I encounter a bug in odk collect v2025.1.4, when creating shortcut form, form list didn't render when the screen is in portrait. However, when the screen is in landscape, it will appear.

For the latter, I am exploring other method. Most welcomed if there is any workarounds that you probably know of. The objective is to quickly let data collector to open the desire form. The reason behind not using repeat group in the form is because its limitation to update the entity.

For the latter scenario, probably sort 'start new form' by 'last saved first' is one of the solutions.
