Display Survey Progress (perhaps based on questions remaining)

Hi All,

I was wondering if there is some way to display survey progress in ODK.
Perhaps a progress bar or percentages (0%, 50%, 90%) to help aid enumerator
with track of time and survey questions asked.

Best Regards,
Ayub

Not automatically. A frequently-requested item, but a clear,
broadly-applied, definition of this is elusive, especially in the face of
repeat groups and heavy use of relevant tags.

You can manually add progress information to your question prompts. e.g.,
within square brackets:

What is your age? [1% complete]

Mitch,

Thanks for the reply,

I also thought that it would be difficult since survey flow might vary
quite a bit every time. Manually adding progress at certain points in the
survey isn't bad option either.

Hi everyone,
Have "Progress Bar" capabilities been updated since 2014? Is there a way to configure xlsform settings (either in the XLS doc or in Formhub) that allows for the addition of a progress bar without manually adding indicators within specific survey questions?

Thanks!

There's been no work on this, because as Mitch noted, a progress bar, when you have repeats and relevance, doesn't really give you a great sense of progress.

Given that the notion of progress comes up a lot, maybe you can post this in the Features category and describe why this is a needed feature and we can start a discussion about how best to do this.

Maybe we just give form designers the option of a progress bar and they can add it depending on the complexity of the form. Or maybe we don't add it at all. Either way, the best way forward is for Akhess to start a discussion in Features.
