So I’m continuing to upgrade the functionality that I initially described on the link above. This time I’ve managed to get it the sync to work completely on a mobile device after setting everything up on a desktop, which means, I can now make incremental changes in the field, record audio, add images, edit the XLSForm,etc.
Currently I’ve been making TODO notes when I encounter these things in the field, but inevitably when I go back to fix things in the office, I end up correcting 90% of it, but I sometimes create other unforeseen issues that require another trip back into the field. This kind of context switching drains my momentum dramatically when trying to solve specific problems that end up taking way more time than they should to resolve. There have been a number of times I go into the field to test a form when one small error in a constraint or relevant field make the entire workflow test invalid, so this is an effort to fix that, not to replace the development of XLSForms to be entirely mobile, but hey, we can dream right?
