Enabling a collaborative workflow in ODK where multiple users can view, comment on, and update form submissions across different devices

1. What is the issue? Please be detailed.
The issue is that in the current ODK setup, once a form is submitted from one device, other users on different devices cannot directly view, comment on, or update that submission. There is no built-in mechanism for collaborative review, commenting, or iterative form filling where multiple users can interact with the same case or submission over time.

2. What steps can we take to reproduce this issue?
To reproduce the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Create and deploy a form on ODK Central.

  2. Download the form on two different phones using ODK Collect (both linked to the same server).

  3. On Phone A, fill out and submit the form.

  4. On Phone B, try to view or comment on the submission made from Phone A.

  5. Notice that Phone B cannot access or view the submitted data directly within ODK Collect, and there’s no option to add comments or edit the existing submission.

Hi @Bharath,

I think this is a perfect situation to use Entities.

Your first form could create an Entity with the data that needs to be reviewed, and it will be synchronized automatically among all devices.

Any other staff person could then fill another form that retrieves the Entity information to update or comment on that.

ODK already provides what you need in a way.
