Entity submission draft shown with form title rather than instance name in Collect

I have observed what may be another bug in the latest release. When a form contains entities (see attached form2.xlsx), the instance name is being displayed as the form name in ODK Collect (v2026.2.0 Beta 0). This makes it impossible to distinguish between drafts of the same form, as they all appear with identical names. The value saved inmeta-instanceName however is what I would expect.

Interestingly, this issue does not occur when the form does not contain entities (see form1.xlsx for reference).

Hi @Thalie

Thanks for reporting the issue. I was able to reproduce it and can confirm that this is not the expected behavior. We will try to fix it soon.

We've now published Collect v2026.1.2 which addresses this issue. Thanks so much for reporting, @Thalie! If you have affected drafts, you should be able to update them from within Collect by opening the draft and saving it again. Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to update sent submissions (@Grzesiek2010?) This bug does not affect data on Central.

Wonderful! I believe that’s totally ok for sent submissions. In my experience, submission naming is most critical for drafts (when enumerators pause their entry or collect data in multiple sessions, it ensures they can quickly identify the submission they want to resume).
