Error in uploading aggregate to AppEngine

Hi,

I am having an issue with uploading aggregate to AppEngine.app, which occurs after completing the ODK aggregate setup wizard. The error that I have been receiving is as follows:
Exception in thread "main"
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/opendatakit/appengine/updater/UpdaterWindow : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

What will be the solution for this issue? I look forward for your help.

Thanks,
Rubee

This indicates that the Java version on your system is older than the Java
7 required by ODK Aggregate's installer.

Review the step on installing Java:

From a command window, you can tell what version of java you are using by
running

java -version

which, on my system gives:

java version "1.7.0_80"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_80-b15)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.80-b11, mixed mode)

The "1.7..." indicates that it is Java 7. "1.8..." would be Java 8. Either
of those allow the installer to work.

I think Windows and Mac systems ship with Java 6.

Hi,

I had recently updated my Java version and checked again it on my system,
which indicates as Version 8. So I am not sure if this is still a version
issue. I had updated Java following the given guidelines, however still not
able to upload ODK aggregate to AppEngine.

Thanks,
Rubee

If you open a Terminal window (Mac OSX) or cmd window (Windows) and type:

java -version

What does it show?

Hi,

It shows: java version "1.6.0_65"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-11M4609)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-462, mixed mode)

It seems my updated java version was not installed. I will try
re-installing it and see if it works.

Thank you so much.
