Form distribution without data storage

Now the last step: I have a form ("TreeHealth") that works well on the
phone, and I can pull and view the data using Briefcase.

I am wondering what possibilities exist to distribute the form and media
folder to new users, most of whom will probably work alone and keep data
locally. No data hosting or other use would be involved. What I have
gathered so far:

  • set up my own ODK Aggregate server--not going to happen, b/c I can't
do it and my website admin says she doesn't want it on her server
  • go through formhub--it has no ability to accept media ATM, and I get
an error anyway when I try to use it to download just the form
  • set up a zip file that the user unzips in /odk/forms/--requires a bit
of tech savvy from the user

Is that the complete list of possibilities? If the form were public, is
there a way it could get onto the default list a new user sees (doubt
it...)?

TIA

Jerry

Jerry,

One option is for Aggregate to run on Google App Engine. Aggregate has
an installer that handles most of the setup so it's pretty easy to get
up and running.

I saw that described on the website, but wasn't sure about it. I will give
it a second look, thanks.
