Getting Data from odk folder

Dear all,
A situation arose where we needed to send our tablets out into the field
with a new form on short notice (before synching with Aggregate). I copied
all the odk folders in the devices and saved them on my desktop to transfer
them back to a device at a later date for synching. However now am copying
the previously saved odk folder back into the device, but I cannot see any
Saved Forms, or Send Finalized Form. Is there any way to retrieve this data?

Thanks,
Tumaini

You could try to using Briefcase. On the Pull Tab, you can select
"Pull data from custom ODK Directory" and that should process the data
in that directory.

In general, if you need to do this, you should copy the entire /sdcard/odk
directory off of the phone. Note that you cannot "merge" or "overlay" data
across phones by simply copying them all into one directory.

The key problem is that the (incomplete/finalized/sent) status of the
filled-in forms is stored in:
/sdcard/odk/metadata/instances.db

This database is not automatically regenerated, merged or combined, and, if
damaged, the instances on the phone "disappear," as you are describing. If
you copy the /sdcard/odk/instances directory and this database back to the
phone, you should see the incomplete and finallized filled-in forms that
are present in the /sdcard/odk/instances directory. Note that the
submitted filled-in forms remain on your phone until deleted, but do not
show up in the user interface except on the Delete Saved Forms screen.

··· --------------- The status of blank forms is stored in /sdcard/odk/metadata/forms.db

This will be updated whenever you go to "Fill Blank Form" and the update is
complete when it reads "Finished scanning. All forms loaded." at the top of
that screen. So this can be deleted at will.
