Hello everybody! new to ODK!

Hi All,

My initial impressions is that ODK has very nice look and feel and
it's very powerful and configurable for data collection!

I hope I'll get a new Android device soon (because I found Android
Emulator difficult to set up in a windows environment) so I'll be able
to start testing with some forms and how all data can be handled at
the server end (ODK Aggregate)!

Question: is there a built-in multi-language (i18n/l10n) system, so I
can translate into Spanish the buttons and menus of the "ODK collect"
and offer to the client the "Android application in Spanish"??

Thank you for being there!

Regards

Dídac

didac,

welcome! odk collect as an application is localized in a number of
different languages -- currently french, spanish, chinese, and
swahili. additionally, the forms you put into collect can also be
localized into any language you care to support.

as you go forward building your odk system, sign up for
http://groups.google.com/group/opendatakit-implementers and ask
questions there. we are plenty of people on that list who can help you
with the emulator and phone choices...

I have a small Java program which uses googlew translation service to
aurtomatically
generate language segments - you will still have to edit the machine
translations if they are
wrong
