Help ODK Collect, Xforms, appengine

We have been using ODK Collect for the past 3 years to collect data for
Monitoring and Evaluation in Development projects in El Salvador, Cambodia
and India.

Normally, we use multiple languages in our data collection.

The problem we are facing is that when we enter the data in the ODK form in
a language that the Android phone supports, say Khmer (Cambodian language),
when the data is transferred to the server, the server does not read this
language and we get junk characters.

Could you please help us to resolve this issue?

Hi Nidhi,

If you can't see the characters on ODK Aggregate, then my guess is
that you are running ODK Aggregate on MySQL or PostgreSQL and you have
not configured the database with Unicode characters. Talk to the
person who installed the server.

If you can see the characters in ODK Aggregate, but you see junk
characters when you download the data to CSV and open it up in Excel,
that's because Excel doesn't make it easy to import Unicode
characters. See
