Household survey in ODK

Hello,

I would like to create a form that is quite similar to the household survey
in ODK.

In particular, I am interested in the barcode field.

I am using PurcForms to create forms, then rendering them to suit ODK.

Please advise on how I can create a barcode field for ODK [which inturn
calls the barcode app; similar to the way the GPS, or camera are called for
Coordinates and video/photo respectively]

Thanks.

hi eisah,

the easiest way to do this is to continue designing your forms in
purcforms. when you need to make a barcode question, make it a text
question for now. when you are ready to finalize the form and put it
into odk, you'll need to edit the form in text editor (like notepad++)
and change that question bind type to barcode.

i understand this is a little vague and technical but take a look at
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/source/browse/Household+Survey.xml?repo=forms#126
to see an example of a barcode question. if you run into problems, ask
on http://groups.google.com/group/opendatakit-implementers.

as a more permanent solution, i'll ask daniel to update purcforms with
an option for barcodes.
