You should probably talk to the Kobo team because I'm not sure what
their fork does.
All data in ODK Collect is stored indefinitely until the user
explicitly deletes the data. And by default, sending data does not
delete any data, it just hides it.
Users can perform deletes in the UI with 'Delete Saved Form' or by
configuring 'Delete after Send' in settings. Removing the
/odk/instances folder will also delete data.
If you have explicitly deleted data from the device and the server,
then it's gone for good.
