I am a new ODK User,
I am trying to make a survey questionnaire in which i try to collect some image also.But when i am trying to download the data from the server the image file are coming as a link in .csv file?

Dear Sir,
I am using excel from that is converted to XML online. And the vertion of odk collect is 1.17.2

i am trying to collect some image like respondent image,Respondent house image like that.When i am conduct the survey then i can take picture but when i am trying to download the .csv file from the server then the picture came as a link.

I did not understand why the image file come as a link?

How to collect image and how i know which image is for which data?

Hi Amrita,

You can directly download the images when you export the data usingODK Briefcase. You will get a .csv and an 'image' folder.

In the .csv the image column will contain the file name in the 'media' folder exported using ODK briefcase.

I am new user of the odk that is why i don't know all the proper function of the odk.
I have prepared an excel based questionnaire and converted it to XML.By using this from i am conducting my survey in odk using android smart phone. But when i am trying to download the data from the server in .csv formate then the image file are coming as links with the data.

Now my question is

  1. How can the image come as a file or file name in the .csv formate instead of coming as link.So that i can understand which image belongs to which data.
  2. How can i download the data after the survey completion.
  3. I am downloding the data from the server, if i use odk briefcase then can you please explain how can i setup the odk briefcase.
