Introduce yourself here!

Hi! Apologies for not introducing myself in the first message. I'm a medical doctor, PhD student, working in a public health project in Papua New Guinea. We are now doing a population census in our area and we are using ODK for the survey.

Thank you @danbjoseph for the solution proposed. We will try to do this and see if it works.

Hi, everyone, I am happy to join a new world, never too big, never too small. I am now in Hamburg, Germany, but I am originally from Brazil.
I am a soil digger, an agronomist and environmentalist, a nature lover that found it's way to digging more languages and surfaces than outdoors because of wanting to bring technology into the hands of normal users, to make their life easier and faster work.
I worked with data management in corporate world until I gave up all to work for farmers and for nature. Now I am part of a team that developed and application for farmers to collect their practices and assess their impact on environment.
I am new to the world of API's, publishing, html, UX, etc... so before you can follow me, let me find myself within this wonderworld.(not under, but WONDER, from wonderful).
I used to be all about socializing through food and drinks and connect with nature through travels. I loved to please people with hosting big cookouts, I love to ponder on the wonders of the world and the magnitude of our existence by traveling.
Today, I am socializing with different web languages through the world, traveling through work and spreading the word of nature through networking. In the end, it is all about learning. I am learning to live and be a better person daily. Although everyone has their own code, I hope we can keep being updated with new features and release ourselves into better versions.
I appreciate any help as I am walking though baby-steps and have little time for reading and digging as much as I dig soil

Hi everyone,

I'm based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine working in public health research in mainly LMICs, and have started using ODK for data collection. On these projects, I often work with collaborators to build capacity in all aspects of research, and using the ODK platform is an area in which many of them have expressed great interest.

Hello everyone,
I'm from Benin and have just finished my bachelor degree in statistics.
I started contributing to ODK Collect's source code some years ago.
I use it to collect data during survey with my friends.
But I'm now because I'm facing some difficulties.
in fact, we are going to collect data but we're far from each other. and then, to get all the forms early I'd like to set up an ODK server; the most simple as possible.
I decided to have VIRTUALBOX's one which need ODK Aggregate VM. but when I downloaded it, it's just a text file I get.
So to be helped and to give help as possible, I join this best Community.
Thank you all

Hello everyone,

I am Salu Singh from Nepal. I have been working as a development practitioner since 2017 after my graduation. I worked in a research institute that used to conduct monitoring, evaluation and learning activities for different NGOs, INGOs and government offices in the country. During my tenure as a research associate, I came across the use of ODK, digital data collection. My interest in ODK is only growing more with my involvement in different projects, their evaluations and other studies.

I am hoping to learn more ideas in using ODK more effectively and efficiently.

Hi ODK friends and collegues!

My name is Abed and I am a graduate student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I decided to start my ODK journey as I will be going this summer to Tanzania in order to collect data as a part of my thesis. I am very excited but as I am new to this experience and do not have a computer science background, it is taking me some time to understand how things work. I am discovering things on my own (as any independent research should) and I am making progress but any tips are welcome!

My twitter handle is @AbdRTamim; I tweet about economics, grad school, motivation, and personal/experiential stuff!

Some things I do other than the university-related tasks include reading novels, watching tennis (Rafa Nadal is my favorite player) and soccer (a Barcelona fan here), working out at the gym, and trying new things!

Great to be introduced Seth. I am also from Trinidad, currently reside in North Carolina in the US and my fieldwork is in Ecuador. I'm curious about your aversion to "Caribbean". We use Caribbean and West Indies interchangeably and have for a while. If anything "West Indies" is colonial in etymology while "Caribbean" stems from an Arawak word.

In any case, great to meet another Trini ODK user. Cheers!

Hi All!
I am David, and I am based in Bristol, UK.
I first got involved with ODK last year (2018) through my work. I have been trying to develop a series of questionnaires in ODK to be used across a number of different countries, and in two languages.
I'm a keen cyclist, although currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon!
Look forward to learning with all of you.
All best,

Hello there,

My name is Naveen. I quit my IT job few years ago, because of my strong preference to live in India and work for the welfare of farmers. Since then, I have been working full-time as a social worker focusing on agriculture, farmers’ welfare, consumer awareness on food, volunteer mobilization for local NGOs . I am now a active member of a state-wide farmers’ organization called Rythu Swarajya Vedika, which is renowned for its work on farmers’ issues. Last year I led a large field study and co-authored the report “Farmer Suicides, Land Ownership, Tenant Farmers & Rythu Bandhu”.

Now I am exploring tools for
conducting surveys, managing data and generating reports.
Task management for volunteers
Social Media campaigns etc

I am hoping ODK suits our needs.

Cheers--
Naveen
